Welcome to the Lake! By booking with us, you agree to the following terms designed for a safe and efficient "Good Day" on the water.

The 10-Minute Arrival: Skip the lines by completing your digital waiver directly after booking. This allows for a quick 10-minute check-in. Waivers can be found in your Rental Account Portal, just follow the email links.
Captain’s Experience: BOATERS SAFETY LICENSES ARE REQUIRED FOR THOSE BORN AFTER 1996. BOAT-ED.COM OFFERS ONLINE COURSES FOR $30. CAPTAINS BORN BEFORE 1996 MUST HAVE BOATING EXPERIENCE TO RENT WITH US. We do not provide in-person driving lessons. By renting, you certify that you are an experienced and confident captain capable of safely navigating Houghton Lake.

Payments: A 30% deposit secures your spot, with the final balance paid at Counter Prior to Departure.
Damage Deposit: A Refundable $250 Damage Deposit will be held 3 Hours Prior to Departure and returned upon successful return and examination of the Vessel. The hold can last up to 2 days.
The 10-Day Window: Deposits are refundable (minus a 6% processing fee) if cancelled at least 10 days before the Rental starts. At 9 days, the deposit is non-refundable regardless of the reason, including illness or personal conflicts. Gift Card or Reschedules Available. No Shows will not receive refunds of any kind.
Good Days Marina has the right to swap boats for certain reservations if we see fit. Price differences will be refunded.

The 2-Dog Limit: We allow a maximum of 2, 40 lbs Dogs on our two fishing pontoons. Pets are strictly prohibited on kayaks. Service Dogs are allowed on Premium Pontoons.
Cleaning: No extra pet fees are charged, but we ask that you return all units in clean condition to avoid detailing fees. Excessively Dirty Boats will be subject to a $200 Detailing Fee. Keep worm dirt tidy and chip crumbs out of the seats, clean up after yourself or you will lose your deposit.
All boats come with 8-10 Lifejackets, an Anchor, 4 Bumpers, and 4 Lines. Missing Items will be replaced at renters expense, deducted from Damage Deposit or if in Excess of Damage deposit, the card on file. This includes add-ons like pontoon slides and coolers. No pontoon slides of fishing vessels.

Damage Hold: A $250 pre-authorization hold is required for all motorized rentals. In the State of Michigan Captains are Liable for the Passengers and Vessel including any costs due to damage or neglect that supersedes the $250 Damage Deposit. Standard charges include $300 for aluminum prop damage and a $155/hr service fee for repair coordination.
Fuel: You receive the Vessel Full and are responsible for the fuel used, charged at the current gas dock rate upon return.
Under the Influence: We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone we believe to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Early Returns: There are no refunds for early returns.
Late Returns: An Automatic Compounding Fee of $30 for EVERY 15 Minutes the vessel goes over it’s Rental Window.

Criteria: We use weather.gov the morning of the rental to make determinations. Rescheduling is only permitted for active Thunderstorm/Tornado Warnings 70% Chance or Higher; or, Wind Advisories (25mph+).
Rain Delays: We do not cancel for light rain or gray skies. If the radar shows weather clearing, we will implement a "rain delay" and pro-rate your rental for the usable hours. Houghton Lake mornings can be cloudy and hazy to start and turn into warm, clear sky days by 11 am.
Rebooking: Approved weather reschedules receive a credit valid for 1 year.
Multi-day rentals do not qualify for weather-related refunds.

Good Days Marina holds the right to change these policies at any given time without notice.
